From the Geelong Master committee to our players and members

Good afternoon legends. It’s with great disappointment that I have to inform you that the league is refusing to budge in there decision and our 35s are in division 1. No amount of pleading could change there mind, my last piece of argument was that we will lose players and have to forfeit the reserves as a consequence. Still didn’t change their mind. Sorry lads, I feel as president I’ve let you down. But bar taking legal action, there is nothing more i could have done.

Though not ideal, it is what it is and now we have to plan. I know Rob spoke to a few lads last night and that if we’re put into division 1 that they would not play, and I understand and respect that, that’s your prerogative. I am pleading with you all to have a crack and join us on this journey. Let’s stick together and gel as a unit, we have quite a few new players in all grades and I honestly think we can be competitive, as long as we attack this as team. Then at the end of the year, let’s be honest with each other and give good feed back. If you decide not to play in 2025, please let us know so we can plan accordingly.

We have 7 weeks till round 1, which is a home game against Essendon, the old foe. So let’s do this, say bugger (not my first choice of words) em, come together and play some good fun footy.
